Why I Chose Programming

When I was introduced to programming in high school I originally did not think of doing it for my career. When choosing where to go after high school I choose the Mobile Applications program at St. Clair and while studying there I learned of different ways software and games help people from mental health to just bringing people together and along with me loving programming I decided this was the career for me.

About me

Graduate of the Mobile Applications Program at St. Clair College and a graduate with a Bachelor's of Computer Science at the University of Windsor. I love programming and hope to develop software that can help people. I enjoy playing games and coming up with different projects I can work on with others in my field. I am currently working on two small projects that will focus on Android, Swift, and Web Development.

Skills

Unreal Engine, C#, C, C++

Projects

Squirrel Cage

A Dogs Breakfast/Squirrel Cage

Team Size: 1

Languages: HTML,CSS,Javascript

Software: Brackets

Goal: To create a website that will provide customers information about the restaurant

Summary: I was given the opportunity to create a website for "A Dog's Breakfast". My goal was to create a website that was easy to use and displayed important information about the restaurant. The restaurant however has two different menus and names so I used Javascript to allow the user to switch between both menus and doing so changed the name, menu, and colour scheme of the entire website.

NightShade

Project NightShade

Team Size: 5

Languages: C#

Software: Unity, Visual Studio

Goal: To create a 2D ARPG that's fun and refreshing

Summary: With our biggest project yet we required extensive research on developing games to find exactly how we would complete this task. After the research, we spent 4 months in total working on this project. In the end, we created a game giving the player quests, crafting, combat, dungeons, shopkeeping, inventory, equipment, and NPC interaction all in a 2D ARPG. We also worked with an animator who created our character assets and a composer who created our music.

Magmargs Demise

Magmargs Demise

Summary: Magmargs Demise is one of the first games I have developed especially with a team. We set out to create only a small game giving the player the ability to create and name their hero, battle enemies, purchase healing items, and stopping at the local inn to regenerate.

DinnerDiner

Alone

Project Alone

Goal: To create a place for me to learn all aspects of game development

Summary: Project Alone is a personal project I am working on to teach myself everything about developing games on a large scale. Although I am working alone on this I have learned a great deal about 3D games like lighting and physics. I have also built the game around using the Xbox controller.
